High Holborn with some travel within the UK

Racing Together encompasses British Racing’s community engagement activity and is a partnership of charities, racecourses and other organisations that work across the sport in varied ways to enrich the lives of local communities.

Reporting to the Chief Executive, the post is part of the team within the education and community charity Racing to School, which is the lead partner of Racing Together. The charity supports the learning and development of young people through unique programmes delivered to schools, colleges and Pony Clubs at racing venues – a record 14,000 will participate this year.

Racing Together offers its partners practical support, introductions and a growing audience through its communication channels. Highlighting and celebrating all that is good in British Racing, Racing Together has recently expanded its work in Scotland, working with all five courses to instigate and accelerate activity and partnerships.

The successful candidate will develop and support the delivery of community outreach programmes. The jobholder will coordinate regular industry-wide Action Group meetings, which are well supported by stakeholders, and will be responsible for planning content and updating of all communication channels, including the Volunteer portal.

Key event management objectives of the role include increasing participation in the annual Volunteer Community day; co-hosting events such as the Racecourse Masterclass and working with youth organisations to stage Careers days.

We are seeking candidates with previous experience in a similar role and, ideally, an interest in horseracing and preferably some exposure to the industry and charitable sector. The successful candidate will have demonstrated excellent communication and inter-personal skills to build relationships at all levels.

The role is office based in central London requiring some travel within the UK and offers the option for occasional home working.

As the needs of the charity change this role will change accordingly, therefore this document should be viewed as guidelines which are subject to change. We welcome enquiries from everyone and value diversity in our workforce.
