York Racecourse now seeks a dynamic and proactive new member of the marketing and Sponsorship team, to support the delivery of a sponsorship and marketing activity over the eighteen day season.

General Information:
Job Title: Sponsorship & Commercial Executive
Department: Marketing and Sponsorship
Reporting to: Marketing and Sponsorship Manager
Dept Head: Head of Marketing and Sponsorship

• To assist, as directed, the Marketing and Sponsorship Manager & wider team, in the achievement of the objectives of the department. This will include working across the areas of sponsorship, marketing, public relations and customer service.
• To identify and exploit opportunities to increase the customer group satisfaction.
• To identify and exploit opportunities to increase revenue to the racecourse.
• To provide continuity on key projects in support of the Marketing and Sponsorship Manager.
• To be a customer experience champion at York Racecourse.

Principal responsibilities
• To take responsibility for certain sponsors, including DBS, EBF,WTY
• To be responsible for the operational delivery of sponsor requirements and benefits
• To be responsible for sponsor branding including course fixing plan and liaison with relevant agencies.
• To manage the raceday information team. Act as Team Leader for the Information Team and undertake special projects on raceday e.g. surprise and delight tours.
• To manage temporary staff to undertake administrative duties relating to sponsors, as directed, to include preparation of invoices, emails, complimentary badges.
• To be responsible for agreed sections of the racecard; the cover design, the race headers including race descriptions and racetimes, and direct sponsor pages (adverts, logos, presenters).
• To further develop the York Racecourse website so it represents the brand and acts as both sales tool and information resource. For example design of the season turnaround and any new advances such as mobile ticketing or controlled access.
• To contribute to the delivery of our digital and social media strategy including Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
• To assist in monitoring and management of Social Media Platforms
• To assist in the delivery of the wider programme of entertainment on racedays; including Family Sunday, Countryside Raceday & Ebor Fashion Lawn.
• To take responsibility for Media accreditation process and photo library.
• To undertake the provision and distribution of marketing materials both for raceday and non raceday (e.g. leaflets, pens, chocolates, racing posts & pop-ups)
• To take responsibility of printed marketing collateral as directed by the Marketing Manager, to ensure it is up to date and continues to represent the Racecourse brand.
• To undertake administrative support including sales reports, proofing of letters, management of phones and emails for the Marketing and Sponsorship Department. To include acting a “first stop” for cold calls.

As supervised by job holder – during Summer Placement:
• Organization of sponsor requirements (e.g. badges, trophies).
• Provision and distribution of marketing materials both for raceday and non raceday (e.g. leaflets, pens, chocolates, racing posts & pop-ups).
• The update and housekeeping of the factual content on the York Racecourse website.
• Administrative duties relating to sponsors, as directed, to include preparation of invoices, emails, complimentary badges.
• The jobholder must co-operate with York Racecourse to enable it to meet its legal duties, which will include an awareness of all Health and Safety issues relating to the role including risk assessment, emergency procedures, office safety and any additional relevant training. • To undertake such other duties as the Racecourse may at times reasonably require

Qualifications and Experience

It is anticipated that the jobholder will be qualified to degree standard or equivalent.  Experience of working within the racing industry and/or the wider hospitality and events industry would be beneficial.  A good working knowledge of common computer programmes: Word, Excel, PowerPoint is expected.  The role requires significant use of the internet and the job holder must be comfortable with this environment.  A high level of attention to detail is required.  Experience of office administration would be beneficial.  A driving licence would be beneficial
