Description:
We are looking for a proactive, friendly and dynamic individual based in the south to join Racing Welfare’s amazing community engagement team as Regional Community Executive.
Racing Welfare is a national charity supporting horseracing’s current and retired workforce. It’s an exciting time to be considering joining us; our charity has never been more needed by the industry and after a period of rapid growth, including the creation of a dedicated Community Engagement department in 2023, we have great plans for the future.
About you
You will be a highly approachable, proactive, and organised individual, capable of providing project management support to our regional team of welfare officers, whilst also working closely with the Head of Community Engagement and wider team to develop and deliver community engagement activity across all departments at Racing Welfare.
You will be involved in delivering a programme of community engagement events and initiatives across the south region and therefore must be comfortable juggling multiple projects and timelines. For this reason, individuals with project or event management experience or qualifications are strongly encouraged to apply.
As well as being an excellent event planner, you will be an extremely personable individual who is able to maintain relationships with core stakeholders, from employers and employees to local community leaders and organisations to raise the profile of the charity and awareness of our services. You will constantly be on the look out for opportunities to increase engagement with racing’s people, and to improve accessibility to Racing Welfare’s vital support services.
The post holder should be a proactive self-starter who is able to work both independently and as a team. The role requires excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as confidence when communicating with stakeholders at all levels. You should also have some knowledge of marketing channels, and the ability to develop targeted and relevant messaging to maximise audience engagement.
This is a full-time role which is based in the south of England and involves regular travel across the region, with occasional travel to other locations within the UK. A full clean driving license and access to a vehicle is essential. The role will provide support at fundraising and community events, requiring some occasional evening and weekend commitments.
What you’ll get in return
You will be offered a competitive salary, employer pension scheme, 25 days annual leave (rising to 28 with long-service) plus bank holidays, flexible working patterns to ensure a healthy work-life balance, income protection insurance, life assurance, tickets to almost all race meetings at Jockey Club racecourses, twice-yearly all-staff training and team building events along with a range of other employee wellbeing initiatives.
As a charity, wellbeing is at the forefront of all we do. We aim to be a leading employer in the industry and make sure everyone at Racing Welfare has the opportunity to thrive.
Application: We welcome enquiries from everyone and value diversity in our workforce. The closing date for this role is 24th March 2025. We reserve the right to bring forward the closing date if we receive a large number of suitable applications.
