The National Horseracing College seeks to employ an instructor to join its enthusiastic, vibrant, and hardworking team. As one of only two specialist horse racing colleges in the UK, this third sector provider delivers training for people in both racing and other equine industries. Located in the scenic grounds of a private estate near Doncaster, it achieved Ofsted Grade 2 in 2016.
The successful applicant will be responsible for riding and stable management tuition within the Foundation Course. It is therefore essential that applicants possess a Level 3 Diploma in Racehorse Care and Management, or equivalent equine qualification. An understanding of the qualification system is desirable.
A desire to teach young people is essential and if not held you would be expected to work towards a teaching qualification. An assessing or equivalent qualification would also be desirable, but training can be provided. You should be highly motivated, an excellent communicator and be able to work as part of a team. You must have a willingness to work with young people who will present challenging behaviours, which at times can be stressful.
Earliest start time is 6.15am, latest finish time is 8.00pm.
The salary is £27,281.00, per annum with a contributory pension scheme. An initial holiday entitlement of 25-days plus Bank Holidays, and Life Assurance (2x salary).
The selected Applicant will be asked to apply for an enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
The College meets equality and diversity, health and safety and safeguarding children and young people requirements.
