Description:

We are looking for a Head Person. The ideal candidate will be experienced in all aspects of horse husbandry and will be comfortable in managing a team.

The role is varied and interesting; including using the equine spa and treadmill.

Daily Duties include:

- overseeing horse walker list

- feeding

- organising staff rota for afternoon and evening stables

- mane pulling and clipping

- checking horse's legs, skin, well-being

- treating minor injuries and ailments

- assisting vets, farrier, dentist and physiotherapist as necessary

- using spa and/or treadmill

- final yard check and lock up

- mucking in and out as required!

The ideal candidate will:

- Have previously worked in a racing yard

- Be confident handling young, fit, racehorses

- Know how to bandage, poultice and treat minor wounds and ailments

- Thrive working in a team

- Have a good sense of humour

Desirable:

- Previous management experience

- Know how to use an equine spa and treadmill (although full training will be given)

- Can clip
