Godolphin are seeking a Stud and Nominations Intern to be based at Dalham Hall Stud, Newmarket. This unique, year-long placement offers an exceptional opportunity to gain hands-on experience and a well-rounded understanding of a world-class bloodstock operation, both on the ground and behind the scenes.
The internship will commence in September 2026 and is ideally suited to someone looking to carry out a placement year or keen to build a strong foundation for a future career in the bloodstock industry.
About the role
Across the yearlong placement, you will start off within Nominations, where you will experience a busy office environment before moving across to the Stud to assist with the foaling season. The day-to-day activities will involve:
- Nominations Office:
- Preparing nomination contracts and managing related paperwork
- Assisting with visitor groups, including school and college tours
- Updating databases and contacting clients
- Maintaining marketing materials across the stud and at Tattersalls
- Supporting planning and delivery of the December Stallion Parade
- Providing digital catalogue updates for the sales team
- Assisting with administrative tasks related to Godolphin Flying Start
- Stud:
- Handling mares, foals, and yearlings
- Feeding, grooming, mucking out, and assisting with exercise routines
- Supporting general maintenance including raking, hedge trimming, lawn mowing, and occasional tractor driving
About you
We would like to hear from you if you are passionate about the bloodstock industry and wish to develop your knowledge. You will also bring:
- Prior experience of working with horses
- A strong understanding of horse handling and breeding
- The ability to switch between outdoor stud duties and office-based responsibilities
- Experience of Microsoft Office
- The ability to operate agricultural machinery
- Professionalism and confidence to engage with clients and visitors
- A flexible attitude to working hours
- A full and current UK driving licence
