Racing Trainer Coach Opportunity – Sheldrake Training

Sheldrake Training is looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Racing Trainer Coach to join our expanding team and deliver high-quality training and assessment across our Level 2 and Level 3 Equine Apprenticeships, as well as the Sporting Excellence Professional Apprenticeship pathway.

We are seeking someone who is passionate about the racing industry, has strong practical knowledge of the sector, and is committed to supporting the next generation of racing professionals. The successful candidate will work with apprentices across racing yards throughout Wiltshire, Oxfordshire, Hampshire, Worcestershire and North Somerset, developing skills, confidence and career progression within the industry.

This is an exciting opportunity to join Sheldrake Training as we continue to grow our provision and strengthen our relationships with leading National Hunt and Flat racing yards. The role can be offered either as an associate coach or as a full-time caseload position, depending on the candidate’s experience, availability and ambitions.

Working alongside the Business Development Manager and Coaching Programme Manager, you will play an important role in delivering outstanding learner support, maintaining industry standards and helping to drive the continued growth of our racing apprenticeship programmes.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have a strong background and practical experience within the horse racing industry

  • Be confident supporting and developing apprentices in a racing yard environment

  • Have excellent communication and organisational skills

  • Demonstrate a positive attitude, strong work ethic and professional approach

  • Be passionate about equine education and developing future racing talent

  • Be willing to work towards a CAVA qualification (if not already achieved)

  • Have the ambition and drive to contribute to the continued development of Sheldrake Training

This role offers flexibility, the opportunity to shape your position within the organisation and the chance to work with some of the country’s most respected racing establishments.

If you are looking for a rewarding role where you can combine your racing experience with coaching and education, we would love to hear from you.
