James Millman
- Law Degree

James was a Flat Jockey for eight years, riding as a professional from 2005 to 2012 and rode 137 winners. However, at the age of 25 he decided to retire as he felt he was still young enough to retrain in a different discipline and go back to university to improve his prospects of getting a job outside the industry.

Scholarship to study a law degree at BPP Law School in Leeds

James: “Law was always a career I had considered t school and the confidence gained by overturning a disqualification at the BHA without a lawyer, as well as help from JETS, meant I started a law degree in September at BPP Law School in Leeds. After eight years away from education, it was not easy to get back in the routine of studying again. However, like most things in life, you soon get used to it and with the course both interesting and enjoyable, it is going well.”
