Liam rode as a Jump Jockey from 1996 to 2004 and decided to build an alternative career in racing following recurrent injuries.
JETS HELP:
Career Advice and Grants to take an NVQ in Racehorse Management and a Farrier Apprenticeship.
THE RESULT:
Liam qualified as a Farrier and is currently working in the Carlisle Area. He won the 2010 Injured Jockeys Fund Progress Award in recognition of his hard work in developing his new career.
COMMENTS:
Liam: “”I love my new role. My retirement was very hard to take at the time, however you have to look at the long term.”
