JETS confirms new Friends of JETS partnership

JETS is delighted to announce that JPAS Contracting has recently joined the Friends of JETS scheme. Based in the Cheltenham area, JPAS are experts in commercial arboriculture, with a primary focus on vegetation management around electrical infrastructure.
Following a period of recent growth, the company is looking to take on more team members and via Friends of JETS, they are able to offer both career advice for jockeys interested in arboriculture as well as potential work placements.
Friends of JETS provides jockeys and former jockeys with a formal network of businesses willing to provide career support and guidance, placements and other services to help jockeys develop experience and knowledge in different career sectors.
April Jones, Logistics Manager at JPAS, said:
“We are delighted to become a Friend of JETS. We have previously employed former jockeys who have many transferable skills to offer with tree surgery being a natural fit as it provides adrenaline-fuelled, physically tough work that rewards balance, nerve, and sharp decision making. We look forward to developing our relationship with JETS and providing exciting opportunities for jockeys.”
Rachel Jones, JETS Manager, said:
“Over the years we have seen quite a few former jockeys go on to work in tree surgery and other horticultural and landscaping roles with JETS funding a number of jockeys to do tree felling and chainsaw training courses so we see this relationship with JPAS as a really good synergy between an employer and potential employees from the jockey community.”
Any jockey who would like to be put in touch with JPAS Contracting to discuss possible career paths or work placements, please contact JETS Manager Rachel Jones (07398 011364 or rachel@jets-uk.org)
