Applications open for RMG/JETS Media Training Course

Racecourse Media Group (RMG), the parent company of Racing TV, and the Jockeys Education & Training Scheme (JETS) have renewed their partnership in offering jockeys and former jockeys free media training this autumn.

The three-day course will be hosted at RMG’s Ealing Studios in London and on-course in November and December. The training will include an introduction to the production gallery, dedicated media training from one of the Racing TV presenters in the new virtual reality studio (as seen above), and the opportunity to appear live on Racing TV in the studio and/or on course.

Former participants include the likes of Adele Mulrennan, Charlie Poste, Will Kennedy, Paddy Aspell, Mikey Ennis and Shelley Birkett.

RMG Director of Communications, Seb Vance, said:

“Unfortunately, we could not run the training in 2020 but, having successfully run similar programmes for jockeys in the three years prior to that, we are delighted to provide this opportunity again. We have seen so many jockeys benefitting from the training and gain media skills which have helped them in their careers as jockeys and given others a practical insight into the range of careers that are available in the media.”

Lisa Delany, JETS Manager said:

“We are extremely grateful to RMG for organising the JETS media training again. Working in the media has proved a popular career choice for many former jockeys and we encourage any jockeys interested in this area to take advantage of this unique and exciting opportunity.”

The training is open to any rider who has held a professional licence issued by the BHA (including Apprentice and Conditional) and has had at least one ride on that licence. More details and application forms can be obtained by emailing Lisa Delany: lisa@jets-uk.org. Applications close on October 17.
